An ever-growing number of research studies, clinical reports and case studies have shown neurofeedback training to be helpful in alleviating the symptoms associated with a wide range of cognitive disorders, brain injuries and negative affective states. How can neurofeedback treat so many conditions?

All the conditions mentioned on this website have a common denominator: the brain is “stuck” in a dysfunctional pattern. This is why medications often are unable to satisfactorily address many conditions. For example, increasing a neurochemical through the use of supplements or medications, which block a reaction or receptor, does not help the brain achieve its natural state of flexibility and self-regulation. This can be likened to putting a band aid on a wound, but does not address the root issue of what caused the wound. With neurofeedback, the brain gets “unstuck” from its maladaptive state. Over the course of treatment, the brain becomes accustomed to a more optimal level of functioning. This is its natural and ideal state which is free of unwarranted anxiety, pain, confusion, sadness…whatever symptoms are preventing a person from functioning better in life.
